National Geographic’s International Photography Contest 2009

Some are artistic, some capture nature and some try to tell something. These were a few of my favorites but you can see all of them at the “Boston Globe” web site in an article by Alan Taylor. I love seeing the world through the eyes of someone else. It’s what art is all about. Truly awesome and inspiring work. The work shown here and at the “Boston Globe” are a few of the entries for the contest.

Smile for Smile

Here is a quick post of a photo by Russ and Reyn that I have had on my mind. Keeps jumping in there, so I figured I’d try to impregnate it in a few others. Russ and Reyn have a cool webpage and I especially like the thank you thumbs. Their work is playfull, uniche and worth a look.

I liked it because it is a simple composite that mixes surreal with real. The lighting is perfect and obviously the choice of colors. Very clever and well thought out.
