It’s a . . . Lamp!

We are going to start off small and then work our way up to a larger projects. Because of this I decided on a lamp. It will end up being a 16″ desk lamp to be exact.

The plate should be the focal point and the base shouldn’t take away. In lieu of this, I chose a simple truncated cone with the top stretched out a bit. I will share the whole process. For more details or clarification, please contact me or post a comment.

The majority of designers generally like drawing up ideas or conceptualizing (designhub), but I like developing what I conceptualize more. For me conceptualizing comes easy, and I like the challenge of bringing my ideas into fruition. Because of this I will only show a simple sketch or rendering of what I am going to do unless you let me know differently.

This project might fail when I try to roll the license plate. There is a step all around the plate, providing rigid strength to keep it from bending. Normally I would test this out before to make sure it is doable, but as I only have one we will be finding out together. The game is afoot.
