Outdoor Living

This design far surpasses any outlandish thought I had for tree houses as a kid. Generally my invisionments centered around themes more like something from Swiss Family Robinson. The Tree Hotel by Tham & VidegĂ„rd Arkitekter wouldn’t have appealed as much to my youthful self, but does very much to my adult self. It’s literally a mirrored glass box with a tree that shoots through the middle of it. I love how it is both obtrusive and yet unobtrusive at the same time. The use of space is well done, and the use of the tree as the center support is a charming touch giving a little warmth to an otherwise more sterile enviroment. I do wonder though how much sap is introduced into the living quarters from this and how the plumbing in general works.
