Plastic Classics

While perusing some older stuff on Core 77’s site I found this ode to three classics. Le Corbusier’s LC2, The Barcelona Chair and the Eames Lounger. Generally I have a hard time with covers and rip offs, but in this circumstance I don’t mind it.

These were redesigned by Dirk Winkel and were titled “A Stacking Homage.” Obviously they don’t even compare to the real deal, but they achieve the desired goal; a sackable, affordable plastic chair that is unique. They have much more character and present a fun alternative for somebody who needs extra seating and doesn’t want to use the same old same old plastic chair. I would love to see a bunch of the loungers alongside a pool.
