The Vader Project

The Vader Project was done by multiple artists that were given a 1:1 authentic prop replica of the actual Darth Vader helmet used in the STAR WARS™ films. Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys were the curators of this project and put together a group of 100 surrealist painters, artist, and designers. More pictures of the work can be seen by going to the site.

I often like the results when artists are given a starting point. Something about seeing the end results when they all had the same blank canvas I find stimulating. No two helmets are alike, which shows the power and ingenuity of our brains. I think even those who are not fans can still appreciate these and their creativity.

The helmets were on exhibition in multiple countries and then auctioned. Though they are not on display, you can buy a full-color catalog here and hold a part of it.
